Airport Noise Mitigation Program

Airport Noise Mitigation Program

TranSystems (formerly OPC) served as the primary consultant for the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on one the largest and long-running voluntary acquisition and relocation programs in the nation. Over a 17-year period, our team successfully acquired 160+ properties totaling over 2,000 residential units. The project team performed all services related to the acquisition of the properties during a very competitive and rapidly escalating seller’s market. Relocation assistance was provided for more than 1,600 residential cases including 350 government subsidized households and 250 units subject to rent control. By developing a relationship with numerous housing authorities and various property managers, our referral department built a comprehensive Rent Schedule database that included over 4,500 local rental units.

Our team worked with LAWA and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) personnel to develop and maintain LAWA’s Policies and Procedures to ensure compliance with FAA Order 5100.37B. We also coordinated directly with the FAA for special incentive programs on a variety of hardship cases. TranSystems most recently provided ROW and relocation services on the Automated People Mover (APM) Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Maintain (DBFOM) project as well as the Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP) Design-Build project.
