South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA)expanded the operations area at Inland Port Greer by developing the two areas/parcels to accommodate future growth at the terminal. The chassis yard was designed to accommodate a minimum of 300 bare chassis and related maintenance equipment. A new intersection/connection from the chassis yard to the International Commerce Boulevard was also required. The facility is served by Norfolk Southern.
TranSystems provided preliminary design and engineering documents, which were prepared for the overall expansion of the facility including the following: two additional Storage Tracks, one additional processing track, RTG Western expansion, Eastern empty container storage, BMW chassis lot, maintenance building, transportation operations building, North chassis lot and South chassis lot, along with grading, drainage, signage upgrades, and roadway and pavement improvements.
