BNSF Logistics Park Chicago

The largest expansion to date at Logistics Park Chicago included retrofitting six wide span cranes in the existing facility to increase terminal capacity by 50 percent. With capacity at 1.5 million lifts per year, it’s the largest capacity intermodal facility in the country. The goal of the expansion was to proactively manage growth and improve the flow of containers between trains and trucks.

TranSystems served as master planner, lead designer, and construction manager for the initial site development and the multi-year expansion.
