Prince Frederick Rescue Squad Building

Prince Frederick Rescue Squad Building

As a task order through our on-call contract with Calvert County, TranSystems (formerly WBCM) provided architectural and interior design services as well as structural and civil engineering and coordinated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services for the design of the new volunteer rescue squad building.
The project began as an 18,000 SF addition to the Rescue Squad Building. After considering the programmatic requirements project, on-site soil conditions, and code deficiencies, the County decided to replace the building instead of renovating it. The building program includes ambulance bays, a watch room, a catering kitchen, offices, bunkrooms, storage, and other amenities for the volunteers. The design of the 22,000 SF building maintains the footprint of the original building on three sides and expands to the west.
