The thing I love most about my job is…
The thing I love most about my job is…
Visiting new airports. Each airport is different and presents its own challenges.
My favorite thing about TranSystems is…
The wide variety of disciplines we have. Whether it is aviation, freight, bridges, etc., we seem to do it all.
Since joining TranSystems…
The opportunities have greatly increased for EITs in my position, having been a part of L.R. Kimball prior to the acquisition. The Aviation Group has expanded our market area and has even been able to work on projects outside of the country.
6:30 – 7:00 AM – Wake up and walk to work
More recently since the weather has warmed up, I have been walking to work. Once there, I log on and respond to emails.
8:00 AM – Daily Aviation Group Teams meetings
I attend daily Aviation Group Teams meetings to discuss current workload, upcoming deadlines, and coordinate site visits.
9:00 AM – Work on various projects
As a member of our Aviation Group, we have the opportunity to perform a diverse set of tasks every day. Some of those tasks could include estimating paving projects, reviewing change orders for airfield lighting, or performing site layout for a hangar project.

10:00 – 11:00 AM – Attend project meetings
Whether a pre-bid or final inspection meeting, another one of our tasks is to attend project meetings. This includes writing the agenda and then issuing meeting minutes.
12:00 PM – Lunch time
Typically, once a week a few Aviation Group members go to a local restaurant for lunch. Otherwise, I eat at my desk.
12:30 – 3:00 PM – Continue working on the project designs
Recently, I have been working on Heritage Field Airport’s Apron project and Doylestown Airport’s Runway project. These include elements such as lighting layout, electrical design, pavement design, and marking layout.
