Rickenbacker Intermodal Facility

The Rickenbacker Intermodal Facility was the initial development as part of the Rickenbacker Global Logistics Park surrounding the Rickenbacker International Airport. The facility, developed in partnership between CRAA and Norfolk Southern Railroad, covers 284 acres with an ultimate capacity of over 400,000 lifts annually. TranSystems served as general engineering consultant assisting the CRAA with more than $100 million in planned improvements, including the intermodal facility, access roads, and new water and sanitary sewer facilities. Other services included rail, roadway and intermodal site planning and preliminary engineering, site utility design, terminal throughput modeling and operational analysis; NEPA documentation, permitting, and environmental site assessment.
