Port of Galveston Traffic Study Services
TranSystems assisted the Port of Galveston with a new Master Plan to guide future development to meet the Port’s increasing volumes in tonnage and cruise passengers. The plan included significant new development, including changes to the current cruise terminals and two new cruise terminals that will greatly impact traffic flows on roadways within and adjacent to the Port. TranSystems evaluated all points of ingress/egress, as well as existing and future Port-operated facilities (both on- and off-site). A primary focus was ensuring automation and technology changes for all modes of transportation (road, rail, water, and aviation) do not adversely affect existing traffic conditions. TranSystems provided modeling of traffic forecasting depicting future transportation infrastructure capacity and needs.
