Hartford Line Station Design

Connecticut Department of Transportation

Rocky Hill, CT

TranSystems provided structural design services for eleven new and renovated train stations along the 62-mile rail corrider as part of Amtrak’s New Haven-Hartford Springfield High-Speed Rail program for Connecticut DOT. TranSystems utilized a structural design configuration which could be repeated readily in different station locations along the rail corridor. This approach allowed for shortened design times and cost-saving during construction.

The new stations feature 500-foot-long elevated platforms for both the northbound and southbound two-track system. It also includes the design of new stair and elevator towers and up-and-over pedestrian bridges to connect both platforms. The platforms include heated shelter areas and egress to the new parking facilities.
