TranSystems Announces New and Promoted Company Officers

TranSystems announces its newest company officers. These appointments recognize professionals who have made outstanding contributions to the company’s success and growth, have demonstrated in-depth industry knowledge and have proven the ability to work effectively across the organization.

These individuals were nominated and accepted by the TranSystems Board of Directors into new leadership positions and ownership levels within the company.

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENTS & PRINCIPALS

John Fortmann, PESchaumburg, Ill.

Fortmann has more than 34 years of experience in roadway design, programming and coordination. Since joining TranSystems, he serves as a leader in Chicago’s highway and bridge division and works with clients to facilitate the design and implementation of roadway and transportation improvements.

Matthew GehmanCharleston, S.C.

Principal
Gehman has more than 20 years of project management and technical experience. As a principal maritime planner, his project experience includes expertise in analysis, planning and analyses for both commercial deep-water and inland waterway port terminals, as well as port related infrastructure projects around the country.

Shawn Turner, PEIndependence, Kan.
Senior Vice President
Principal
Turner has experience in all facets of municipal engineering, including streets, ADA compliance, utilities, and facilities. He is well versed in assisting clients in obtaining state or federal funding for infrastructure improvement projects throughout the Midwest. Following the F5 tornado that hit Joplin, Mo., he helped the city apply for a TIGER grant, in which they received $12 million.

Ammad is an experienced structural engineer with significant expertise in bridge and tunnel inspections, bridge load rating analyses, bridge rehabilitation, bridge design, highway design, foundation design, drainage design, developing bridge and highway plans, and construction inspection of bridges.

Vice President
Clark has more than 18 years of experience and serves as Multimodal Planning Leader in Kansas City, where she manages projects using a diverse team of planners, engineers, and scientists from across the country.

Slade Engstrom, PE, PTOEWichita, Kan.
Vice President
Engstrom has nearly 20 years of experience and serves as a national traffic expert for the company as well as a traffic leader in the Wichita office.

Stephan Freese, PEChicago
Vice President
Freese has more than 25 years of diverse experience ranging from design to program management. He works on projects throughout the country helping to provide lighting design quality control and he effectively manages multiple multi-million dollar program management contracts annually.

Todd HermanKansas City, Mo.
Vice President
Herman has more than 26 years of experience in bridge design, plan preparation, planning, project and client management of transportation structures, with an emphasis over the last 16 years on railroad structures for the Class I railroads.

James (Mitch) Lambeth, PEKansas City, Mo.
Vice President
Lambeth is highly experienced in design and project management of both public and private projects, including street improvements, storm drainage improvements, sanitary sewer main extensions, water main extensions, and utility relocations.

Lynne Marie Whately, AICP Berkeley, Calif.
Vice President
Whately has held a range of leadership roles within the company and her work spans multiple regions and offices. She helped build our planning and environmental capabilities both in Florida and in Northern California during two different stints with the company.
