TranSystems Announces New and Promoted Company Officers

TranSystems announces its newest company officers. These appointments recognize professionals who have made outstanding contributions to the company’s success and growth, have demonstrated in-depth industry knowledge and have proven the ability to work effectively across the organization.

These individuals were nominated and accepted by TranSystems’ Board of Directors into new leadership positions and ownership levels within the company.

PRINCIPALS & SENIOR VICE PRESIDENTS

Chad Gartner – Fort Worth, TX
Senior Vice President
Principal
Gartner serves as office leader of the Fort Worth office, which has grown 25 percent in the past year. He is heavily involved in sales with the Texas Department of Transportation. He has experience in the design and project management for transportation projects throughout the DFW area and throughout Texas.

Larry Kirchner, PE, SE – Chicago, IL.
Senior Vice President
Principal
Kirchner currently leads the firm’s national bridge practice and has more than 30 years of experience in structural design and project management for a wide range of bridge, rail, and roadway construction projects in Illinois and throughout the United States. In his six years with TranSystems, he has used his structural engineering expertise to build our business with Chicago area DOT’s, rail, and transit clients and has worked on many award-winning bridge projects.

Jeff Lackey, PE – Wichita, KS
Senior Vice President
Principal
Lackey has been with TranSystems nearly 20 years and has held many roles, starting in the Wichita office and leading up to his current role as Managing Director of the Midwest area. He maintains an active sales leadership role with long-lasting client relationships with the Kansas Turnpike Authority, the Kansas Department of Transportation, the City of Wichita and various other municipalities.

 

VICE PRESIDENTS

John Bergman, PE – Charleston, SC
Vice President
Since joining TranSystems in 2018, Bergman has led the Charleston office operations and helped build relationships with the South Carolina DOT. His structural engineering expertise has been an asset in the area as well as his strong client relationships.

Anna Dukes, PE, SE – Chicago, IL
Vice President
Dukes working in the company’s Chicago office and has a diverse range of Chicago transportation experience from structural engineering, project management, quality reviews, and business development for all project phases. She joined TranSystems in 2019.

David Lee, AIA, LEED AP BD+C – Berkeley, Calif.
Vice President
Lee has more than 25 years of experience as an architect and project manager. He specializes in the planning and design of operations support and maintenance facilities and excels in delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions to clients across multiple sectors nationwide.

 Matt Smith, PE – Schaumburg, IL
Vice President
Smith has 27 years of highway and traffic engineering experience. He serves as the office director of the Schaumburg, Ill. office overseeing both sales and operations.

Alex Stone, PE – Atlanta, GA
Vice President
Stone has 25 years of experience in project management and design. He manages the Atlanta office and also assists with projects in the South Carolina and Virginia markets.

Todd Thalmann, PE – Kansas City, MO
Vice President
Thalmann has been with TranSystems more than 30 years and he has been a national leader in roundabout design the past 19 years. Having worked on nearly 200 layouts, he brings a unique skillset related to roundabout geometry.

Lenny Velichansky, PE – Boston, MA
Vice President
Velichansky serves as the Civil Division Leader in the Boston office overseeing three teams – Highway/Traffic, Rail, and Site/Civil. He’s been an accomplished project manager and currently manages 12 projects.

 

ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENTS

Kelsey Kropp – Kansas City, MO
Assistant Vice President
Kropp has more than 12 years of environmental technical and regulatory experience. He is recognized as a company expert within the environmental practice community. He offers a breadth of field experience as a scientist with expertise in permitting requirements and efficiently guides clients through the process from the initial reconnaissance to permit acquisition.

Tanya Lindquist, PE – Houston, TX
Assistant Vice President
Lindquist has 17 years of experience in the civil design of transportation projects ranging from suburban collectors, urban thoroughfares, and rural highways to urban freeways/tollways. She currently is the Highway Team Leader in the Houston office.

Brian Racine, PE – Chicago, IL
Assistant Vice President
Racine has 20 years of experience in the construction of expressway, bridges, and urban highway improvements including the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Chicago Department of Transportation and municipalities. He is the resident expert in advancing use of e-Construction technologies with the company.
