James E. Martin

James E. Martin
A board member since 1996, James’ expertise is in business development, mergers
and acquisitions, and personnel recruitment. In his more than 51 years with the
railroad industry, he served as Vice President of Operations at Lehigh Valley
Railroad and Senior Vice President of Operations at Rock Island, among others.
During the privatization of the National Railroad of Mexico, he formed the Mexico City
Terminal Company. He has served on many Boards of Terminal Switching
Companies and Class I Railroads, and represented the rail industry before the
Transportation Committees of the House and Senate.
