Transit Planning

Despite the challenges, transit systems need to constantly update route structures to meet changing needs. This may mean changing the schedules, routings and frequency of existing fixed routes. It may mean coordination of services around suburban hubs and introduction of new, innovative flexible services. It can also mean changing your whole way of doing business. TranSystems has the expertise and experience to help. We have developed innovative solutions for the mobility needs of communities throughout the United States and overseas.

Transit Restructuring is just one of the many services we provide to our transit clients. Our staff also has expertise in planning activities such as strategic planning and visioning, service design and operations planning, flexible service planning, transit center location studies, data collection planning and analysis, ridership forecasting, service coordination, demonstration evaluation, performance monitoring, technology applications, simulation and modeling, ADA compliance, and business plans and funding options.

TranSystems has worked with systems of all sizes to design route systems that meet regional transit needs better. Our system restructuring recommendations have included the development of transit centers, high-quality express bus service and bus rapid transit systems, improved service coordination, and flexible services.

TranSystems’ clients include transit authorities and agencies, state and local departments of Transportation, and metropolitan planning organizations.
