Structural Engineering

From a hardworking megaton freight rail bridge, to a soaring airport atrium, to the tarmac on which a military bomber lands and the state-of-the-art hangar that houses it, structural engineering is the necessary support of any facility’s utilitarian design. Whatever your transportation-related project, TranSystems will design its structure to be safe, cost-effective, non-intrusive, and long-lived.

We offer both time-proven and highly-specialized structural engineering services for facilities such as bridges and related structures;
maritime structural engineering; waterfront engineering; bridge inspection; bridge design and engineering; building engineering; mechanical, electrical and plumbing; and pipeline engineering.

TranSystems portfolio includes designs for new structures, as well as repairs to and rehabilitation of existing structures. Our structural engineers are constantly improving on traditional engineering methods as well as pioneering innovative structural supports for one-of-a-kind applications.

Our repairs can render an existing structure stronger and more sustainable than before. Our historic restorations respect outer appearance while renewing inner supports to withstand the demands of today’s use and meet current codes. To complete detailed structural design and analysis, we use established theories of statics and mechanics, our knowledge of historical construction methods and materials. Our structural engineers are versed in state-of-the-art design theory and in the latest software applications for determining member forces, deflections, and capacities.

TranSystems’ structural engineers are not only versed in regulatory design codes – we are often the consultants regulatory agencies call upon to define them. We work on a regular basis with agencies including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, US Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Natural Resources, and Department of Transportation.
