Wakefern Food Perishables Facility

A perishables facility that TranSystems designed for Wakefern Foods almost 20 years ago had reached its operating limits in terms of inventory capacity and throughput. When Wakefern was unable to obtain real estate on which to build an expanded warehouse, they requested that TranSystems perform an operations  assessment to determine how the facility’s throughput and capacity might be improved. TranSystems' industrial engineers and material handling specialists prepared a study with recommendations.  Solutions implemented included installation of additional refrigerated dock doors.
