Central Lewmar Facility Redesign

This project was focused on the redesign of an existing facility in which throughput was constrained by the full-pallet process used for storing materials and order picking operations using an AS/RS and AGVs. The AS/RS was not fully utilized due to the return of partial pallets to storage. TranSystems redesigned the operation to provide for racking to hold an operating supply of product for picking which was replenished from the ASRS in full pallet quantities. This permitted batch picking and increased the utilization of the ASRS by 40%.
