Simulation and Analytical Modeling

Simulation is an indispensable tool for rapidly quantifying the operational impact of changes to facilities, systems, and processes – and to experiment with “what-if” scenarios prior to implementation. It provides the ability to model, analyze, optimize, test and select the best possible alternative solutions, while taking into consideration variables associated with demand, schedules, priorities, equipment capabilities, layouts, costs and constraints.

TranSystems’ nationally recognized planners, analysts, and engineers have extensive experience providing solutions that affect not only the design of your facilities, but the operations as well. Efficient processes, optimized equipment usage and effective staffing result in maximum use of your capacity, reduced costs and improved customer satisfaction. This approach is unique in the industry and the reason that clients turn to TranSystems for independent advice. Benefits to clients include:

  • Experiment without mock-ups
  • Avoid disturbing systems and people
  • Visualize under a variety of conditions
  • Understand complex interactions
Modeling can begin at the conceptual design stage and evolve through start-up to ongoing support of decision making once systems are up and running. Results are presented graphically and dynamically to facilitate analysis of performance and to better understand bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement. Simulation provides “insurance” by validating that changes will perform as intended once deployed. In addition to addressing immediate needs, these models can support ongoing analysis – from periodic strategic assessments to daily process management.

TranSystems has one of the largest groups of full-time simulation professionals in the industry. We perform data collection, mining, and analysis; simulation modeling; development of customized analysis tools; and creation of high-resolution visualizations of existing or future operations to create alternatives analyses that result in fact-based decision-making regarding layout, equipment selection and placement, new technology and process changes. We have served more than 300 clients and completed over 600 major projects over the last 20 years in the manufacturing, trucking, warehousing transportation and distribution industries.
