TranSystems

Rail/Track Design

Rail service is one of the most efficient ways to transport large quantities of product from one point to the next. TranSystems not only helps railroads design track expansions, but also assists in decision-making for clients who desire to locate near and develop access to rail assets, identifying and designing the type of rail service that would be most beneficial.  For example, a spur track might accommodate a smaller facility’s needs, while larger facilities may best benefit from having a rail yard or rail loop system to reap the cost savings benefit of unit or shuttle train type services.

Our staff analyzes potential car movements along existing or proposed track and rail yards to develop an effective rail operating plan. We review a number of alternatives to determine the plan and design rail extensions specific to both railroad and shippers’ needs.

Our professionals ask the right questions and their designs right-size the solutions. We apply business planning tools to ensure the returns on these capital-intensive infrastructure investments.
