For Weis Market's $93.2-million campaign to freshen its retail locations the company first acted as its own project manager but then decided it needed the services of a full discipline design firm. TranSystems provided project management along with architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical design services for four facilities. Each was freshened with a new entrance and more appealing aesthetics throughout. TranSystems' renovation designs were based on a prototype that provides larger perishable departments with greater variety and enlarged front-store areas for perishable/ready-to-eat foods so customers can get in and out quickly with supplies for a single meal.
