TranSystems coordinated the project team, which included CVS senior personnel, collected data from existing CVS distribution centers and interfaced with potential vendors. Transystems then helped select the design-builder and material handling system vendor. The 400,000 square-foot DeXma automated order fulfillment center occupies only half the footprint of a typical CVS facility and requires only 2/3 of the personnel, yet serves the same number of stores, making extensive use of automation and a variety of other productivity tools.
