Feasibility Studies and Alternative Analysis

The Feasibility Study is a preliminary review that determines whether a proposed project is technically, financially, and operationally viable, while the Alternative Analysis helps to identify viable alternatives for the system design and development. TranSystems offers a successful track record in conducting key alternatives analyses and engineering for fixed guideway transit systems. We use this expertise to enable clients to make better, more informed decisions about locally sponsored feasibility studies and environmental impact analyses. Our alternatives analysis and planning experience covers commuter and intercity rail, rail rapid transit, light rail transit, streetcars, bus, and bus rapid transit. As part of our Alternatives Analysis and Planning Services, we provide New Starts Alternatives Analysis, feasibility studies, conceptual design, environmental impact studies, major investment studies, and corridor studies.

We focus on corridor studies, including feasibility and conceptual design studies; alternatives analyses, major investment studies; and environmental impact statements following FTA “New Start” and NEPA guidance. You are assured that a consultant with extensive, applicable experience is on the job. These projects integrate TranSystems’ transit planning and operations capability with our design expertise.

Organizations such as DOTs and transportation authorities, regional planning, municipalities, and transit agencies have benefited from TranSystems Alternatives Analysis services.
