Facilities Master Planning and Design

TranSystems is your source for experienced professionals who understand the complexities and constraints of manufacturing and processing, warehousing, retail and distribution and can help you find the right solution for your facilities and strategic master planning needs. From new to expansion or reset of an existing facility, we work with clients to find the best solution for their requirements. Our teams have successfully completed more than 600 conventional and automated distribution center projects, and over 300 manufacturing projects.

With no predisposition or obligation to recommend specific types of equipment or software, our designs and recommended solutions are often not capital intensive. Indeed, in many instances, process change alone can yield increased productivity and reduced operating costs. TranSystems provides disciplined, scientific and objective analysis of historical, current and forecasted requirements to identify alternatives that may include traditional, mechanized and/or automated solutions. Once a decision has been made that a new facility or modifications and equipment additions to an existing facility will be required to meet performance objectives, simulation and modeling tools can make invaluable contributions throughout conceptual and detailed handling system design. We then match projected capital investment, labor and operating costs against anticipated benefits to support solution selection.

Our main areas of facilities and planning services include:

Facility layout and planning – greenfield, expansion, and reset
Material handling systems – design, evaluation, specification, and selection
Automation systems assessment
Simulation and analytical modeling
