Bridge Design and Engineering

At TranSystems, we plan and design new bridges to be as aesthetically pleasing as they are functional, safe, and economical. TranSystems excels in providing successful alternatives for preliminary scoping studies by working directly with our clients to focus on solutions to complex problems. Our rendering group graphically supports these efforts for special projects, creating life-like views and videos for design presentations. We design all styles of fixed and movable bridges  to carry highway, railroad, pedestrian and transit using both traditional and evolving materials.

We evaluate existing bridge inventories, providing inspection, testing, and load rating services to determine bridge condition and serviceability, from simple spans to complex structures to statewide bridge inventories. Our historic bridge group prepares historic bridge inventories, HAER documentation, management plans and rehabilitation designs for all manner of historic bridges throughout the country.

Our staff is not only knowledgeable about roadway bridges, but has a special expertise in the planning and design of new railroad bridges and the inspection, load rating, evaluation and rehabilitation of existing railroad bridges. TranSystems provides a comprehensive range of railroad bridge engineering services focused to meet the needs of the rail industry. We are familiar with the appropriate federal, local, and industry standards including Section 417 of the Railroad Safety Enhancement Act of 2008.

Our bridge staff is located nationwide and coordinates assignments to match resources with project needs.
