Airfield and Landside Engineering

Airport improvements are necessary to update operations, facilities, and services facilitating the necessary flow of people and goods from parking and baggage through take-off or landing. Whether domestic or international, commercial or cargo, civilian or military, TranSystems offers comprehensive experience in the areas of airside facilities design and rehabilitation. Our services span the entire realm of airfield and landside engineering and are strengthened by our solid relationships with airlines, port authorities, cargo carriers and governmental agencies.

Our staff experience includes aircraft gate, apron, taxiway, runway work, GSE areas, airport utilities, electrical infrastructure, fueling facilities, and IT/communication facilities. Our expertise in air cargo landside facilities includes sort buildings, heavyweight freight, international freight, GSE/vehicle/aircraft maintenance, aircraft stores and administrative and security operations areas.

Much of our airfield and landside work includes green technologies for LEED certification, for example, the first fuel cell power facility implemented at the Oakland airport and new electric tug charging stations. TranSystems has demonstrated our in-depth understanding of the requirements and complexities of landside and airside facilities through planning, design and construction management at airports including Los Angeles, Oakland, San Francisco, San Jose, Ontario and Burbank, CA; Seattle, WA.; Phoenix, AZ; Fort Worth, TX, Kansas City, MO, and for military facilities around the world.
