Great Rivers Greenway and the city of St. Louis will have an open house on Thursday, Sept. 29, to share preliminary design plans for the Carondelet Connector, a planned .75-mile trail that will connect Carondelet Park with the River des Peres Greenway.
People are invited to stop by between 5 and 7:30 p.m. at the YMCA Recreation Complex at 930 Holly Hills Drive in Carondelet Park to view design plans, provide comments and speak with representatives from Great Rivers Greenway and trail engineers from TranSystems.
The new connector will extend from where the River des Peres Greenway currently ends at Germania Street north to Carondelet Park and will include an underpass at Loughborough Avenue.
Once complete, the River des Peres Greenway will serve as a 12-mile recreation and transportation corridor that will stretch from Forest Park to the Mississippi River, linking seven parks, three business districts and six neighborhoods.
