TranSystems Grows Staff in WMS to Serve Increasing Client Base


TranSystems, a professional services consulting firm focused on the secure and efficient movement of goods and people, is experiencing growth in their manufacturing and distribution sector, specifically in warehouse management systems (WMS) integration.

The company has recently won contracts with Exel, JBS, and Avnet to provide services in WMS integration. TranSystems has recently hired new experts in this area with a plan to grow further in the next six months. The new hires include experts:

  • Edward Jones, Operations management and engineering solutions
  • Jonathan Hopper, Warehouse management systems
  • Ralph Potter, WMS implementation

Jones is an operations management and engineering solutions provider with more than 25 years experience in WMS, automated control systems, leading-edge automation technologies and delivering manufacturing automation and systems optimization. Prior to TranSystems, Jones served as a product manager at Real Time Solutions, Inc., where he designed and implemented high-efficiency order fulfilling systems. He later joined Working Machines Corporation as Director of Distribution Services. He designed, managed, and implemented order fulfillment, high-level warehouse execution systems, low-level machine controls and trained end-users. He later became a consultant providing expertise to a number of different companies, offering analysis and recommendations on improvements to warehouse management systems and manufacturing optimization, and training for personnel.

With expertise in WMS, Hopper brings more than five years of on-site experience to the TranSystems team. Hopper’s past experience includes retail and wholesale sector Red Prairie consulting for two major apparel distributors, two major consumer distributors and one leading pharmaceutical distributor – eight distribution centers in total specializing in end-to-end process testing and documentation, process analysis and improvement, warehouse layout review and recommendation, project management, team mentoring, and leadership.

Potter brings to TranSystems more than 18 years of experience in managing complex projects, including WMS deployment and implementation, involving integration with numerous proprietary business systems. Prior to TranSystems, Potter provided commerce engineering consulting services to a number of organizations such as J. Crew, Global Transportation Solutions, Ryder, and Texas Utility Services. His responsibilities included project management, strategic planning, and operations review. Potter attended Western Michigan University where he studied Manufacturing Administration.
