I-35 Alternatives Analysis

Johnson County Transit, Olathe, Kansas

TranSystems worked closely with Johnson County Transit and KDOT to conduct an Alternatives Analysis of transit options in the I-35 Corridor, the major freeway connecting suburban Johnson County Kansas with downtown Kansas City. The analysis identified the most effective transit investments to offer commuters a wider range of options. The analysis included travel demand forecasting, public participation and preparation of a financial plan for the preferred alternative. TranSystemsÂ’ consultant team, which is working closely with the Federal Transit Administration and KDOT, conducted the study in strict accord with the FTA's New Starts procedures for capital investments.
