TranSystems was selected for an on-call Engineering and Construction Management contract for the Alaska Railroad. Responsbilities included Project Management, Scheduling, Estimating/Cost Tracking, Value Engineering, and UBC Inspection and Testing. The scope of work included design realignment of the railroad's mainline to allow sufficient speed to implement a new commuter rail service from Wasilla to Anchorage that is now under planning as well as to support daily freight and intercity passenger operation.
