Allegheny & Erie-Torresdale Stations

Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

As part of SEPTA’s Frankford Elevated Reconstruction Project, TranSystems prepared designs for the reconstruction and partial rehabilitation of two key stations. Their contexts are commercial and lively—a draw for riders who can now enjoy modern station amenities. The scope of work included new station buildings; rehabilitation of existing platforms; handicapped access; overpass bridges at each station allowing passengers to move conveniently from one platform to the other; a comprehensive hazardous materials abatement program; and extensive modifications to the under-street power system.
