Kansas City Union Station Redevelopment

Union Station Kansas City, Missouri

TranSystems served as the prime consultant for this project to return an Amtrak terminal to Union Station after an absence of 17 years. The facility was designed within space constraints of the restored Station to provide ticket counter and luggage check-in, waiting room, freight elevator to track level, and unique 40' exterior walkway along the north face of the station that allows passengers to access a new, widened platform to the operational tracks via stairways and an escalator.

*Winner of the American Public Works Association Historical Restoration/Preservation Public Works 2003 Project of the Year Award.
