Hudson-Bergen Light Rail System Design

New Jersey Transit, North Bergen, New Jersey

NJ Transit's Hudson/Bergen Light Rail Transit System (HBLRTS) is a vital connection that links New Jersey’s growing Hudson River waterfront communities. The 20.3-mile corridor extends through some of the nation’s most densely populated municipalities, a region noted for its significant dependence on rail transit. As a subconsultant to NJ Transit's General Design Consultant, TranSystems provided design services on three different line sections of the HBLRTS, totaling over 19,700 feet of dual trackway and including nine bridges, several retaining walls and four stations.
