Trinity Parkway Tolled Bypass

North Texas Toll Authority, Dallas, Texas

A 1997 Major Investment Study determined that a new roadway in the Trinity River area could significantly relieve congestion near downtown Dallas. Trinity Parkway, which would provide a tolled bypass around the downtown, is proposed to extend 10 miles, from the SH 183/IH-35E juncture to US 175/Spur 310. The facility would be constructed with four to six lanes, with ultimate expansion to six, and include main lane and ramp toll plazas. Due to its proximity to other planned Trinity River improvements, environmental analysis continues to be extensive.
