Montana Avenue Toll Feasibility

Texas DOT - El Paso District, El Paso, Texas

TxDOT constructed an expressway through the City of El Paso. The new corridor helped alleviate congestion, but TxDot wanted to evaluate the feasibility and impacts of an additional four-lane toll section.  TranSystems performed modeling, conceptual planning, preliminary design, public involvement, and cost estimating for the project. The plan-view drawing was used during public meetings. VISSIM modeling evaluated the projected effects of a new facility.  Additional tasks included preparing an optimal toll collection plan; revenue forecasting; daily revenue estimates; a bond-sizing analysis; and cost and feasibility determination.
