I-10/Tippecanoe Avenue Interchange

San Bernardino Associated Governments

Project Summary

TranSystems prepared the Project Approval / Environmental Document (PA/ED) and Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for improvements to the I-10/Tippecanoe Avenue Interchange in the Cities of Loma Linda and San Bernardino, California. The project included reconfiguration of the interchange by adding a loop on-ramp to westbound I-10 and reconfiguring the westbound off-ramp to Tippecanoe Avenue around the new loop on-ramp as well as the widening of local arterials. This area is critical to connectivity, and TranSystems completed the PA/ED phase on an accelerated schedule in order to provide quick relief to the neighboring cities, and worked closely with local stakeholders to accommodate alternatives and input. TranSystems is also begun design work under the Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) phase.

Project Highlights

  • Required new permanent right-of-way in all four quadrants of the interchange
  • The PA/ED phase was on an accelerated schedule
