Project Summary

TranSystems designed a new, "signature" bascule bridge over the Intercoastal Waterway in Palm Beach, FL. The bridge is 355 ft long and provides two lanes each for vehicle and bicycle traffic. The bascule span has a horizontal clearance of 125 ft. TranSystems, as prime consultant, designed the structure, including the approach structures, bascule span, machinery and control systems. The bridge received a National Steel Bridge Alliance Merit Award. Project Manager Wayne McLennon was named one of the "Top 25 Newsmakers of the Year" by ENR Magazine.
