Queensboro Bridge Seismic Analysis

Transystems and T.Y. Lin International are providing total design services for the Seismic Analysis and Retrofit Design of the Queensboro Bridge in New York City. The Bridge is a major East River crossing between Manhattan and Queens with the main truss being a total of 3,724 ft in length. It carries a total of ten lanes of traffic on two levels. Analyses included creating a finite element model for the main spans and approach spans; geotechnical investigation to accurately model the soil structure interaction; and many others. TranSystems is also performing retrofit design and providing construction support.
