Bridges and Structures

Bridges

Over rivers, roads, and railways, bridges fill gaps to maintain the flow of goods and services, and get people to where they need to go in the most expedient and reliable way possible. At TranSystems, we understand that, whether the travel is for business or pleasure, the experience should be an enjoyable one. We design our bridges to be as aesthetically pleasing as they are functional, safe, and economically feasible.

Designing bridges – short or long span, fixed or movable – using steel, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and post-tensioned concrete has been the cornerstone of TranSystems’ business since our inception. Our structures are designed as simple, multiple or continuous spans; and viaducts that carry highways, railroads, and pedestrians over roads, rivers, and railroads using various cast-in-place and precast substructure elements under a variety of foundation conditions. Our team excels in providing successful solutions to complex structural issues including multiple design stages, complex weaving patterns for traffic maintenance during construction and expert analysis to context sensitive design issues.

TranSystems has designed numerous award-winning bridges that utilize ingenious and economical means to achieve extraordinary ends. This includes working with an artist to interpret a truss shape into structurally functional bridge elements, integrating materials and finishes to match a city’s architecture and incorporating a community’s cultural themes.

We don’t stop there. Our engineers continue to be available to provide knowledge and advice through the construction process. We offer project management support acting as an extension of the client in managing contractors, tracking change orders, maintaining traffic, and monitoring contract progress to ensure your project is completed to your ultimate expectation – meeting the needs of stakeholders across the community.

Structures

From the ground up, TranSystems provides planning and design for structures and facilities. The need for complex structural designs is increasing as technology, and even mother nature, give way to wide-ranging challenges. Commercial and industrial structures must be designed to specifications meeting environmental criteria and LEED goals, operational or customer service objectives, and innovation expectations, while at the same time have the ability to withstand, if not simply protect, from natural and manmade disasters. TranSystems understands that structures are more than built forms. They are the places in which we live our lives.

TranSystems has a team of experienced architects and engineers who specialize in providing structural, roadway, and operations planning and design for structure and facility efforts conducted by state and local agencies. Our experience ranges from industrial facilities and aircraft hangars to maintenance complexes. As each of these facilities may house different operations, our design team is trained to assess the particular needs of the end-users and provide facility designs to support the intended function. We do this in the most cost-effective manner while maximizing long-term usefulness.

Our services can adapt to any environment and are available to deliver a project to meet your needs. Regardless of the type of facility, we can provide engineering, energy studies, equipment selection and specification, and piping and equipment layout design. Our staff provides in-depth analysis of new and existing systems, recommendations interior and operations design including compliance documentation in areas such as energy management, and trouble-shooting and system commissioning.
