Trail Planning for Phased Implementation

DuPage County, Illinois

TranSystems' feasibility study for the East Branch DuPage River Greenway Trail identified a strategy for the implementation of a 31-mile rail through DuPage County, IL.  A combination of off-street trails, on-street bicycle routes, and existing bikeways, the proposed trail will connect 18 schools and universities, 29 parks, 10 forest preserves, and 12 other points of interest including golf courses and sports facilities.  The trail will also connect to four other regional trails. The study identified 31 segments that can be implemented as funding becomes available. Several of them are now under construction.
