Fatigue and fractures engineering and Fracture Critical Member (FCM) inspection has become a staple in TranSystems’ bridge engineering services portfolio. TranSystems has an earned a national reputation for excellence in inspection, evaluation, and rehabilitation. We have been selected to “write the books” that underlie both federal and state policies and practices, including AASHTO’s “Manual for Condition Evaluation of Bridges” and the “Movable Bridge Inspection, Evaluation and Maintenance Manual,” which is the industry standard for the treatment of movable bridges. We also wrote FHWA’s “Techniques & Methodologies To Rehabilitate Historic Bridges on Low Volume Roads (draft).”
With the integration of Lichtenstein Consulting Engineers (LCE) into TranSystems on June 2, 2007, we have the extensive experience and in-depth technical skills to inspect, test, and analyze any type of truss, cable-stayed or suspension bridge. Our staff has inspected more than 40,000 bridges nationwide on highways and railways, fixed and movable, from simple bridges on local systems through complex bridges on major arterials.
The inspection of any major bridge is preceded by careful planning to reduce inconvenience to the motoring public. The safety of drivers and the inspection team is a top priority. Our staff regularly works with clients on inspection projects to ensure appropriate traffic control is utilized as well as coordinate required lane closures with the appropriate agency or municipality. We use experienced inspectors and team leaders on each team who are capable of performing multiple inspection techniques, including technical access (climbing) when required. All of our inspection methods are in compliance with OSHA standards.
With a full spectrum of disciplines, industry focus, and geographic reach, we take our client’s vision from the conceptual environment to the built environment. Our experience crosses the entire spectrum of transportation-related systems so we can tailor our approach to your individual project.
