Rail-loading Facility and Track Design

Big River Resources, Galva, Illinois

Big River Resources purchased a rail-loading facility and track near Galva, IL for a new ethanol plant.  TranSystems’ scope of the work included designing the rail surface, rail expansion, a roadway extending from an existing road to the site, and a plant access route originally conceived as an underpass.  However, because an excess of dirt had been left over from the roadwork, the opportunity arose for a more economical solution. TranSystems redesigned the access route as an overpass on a constrained schedule.
