Seward to Tamora Mainline Trackage

BNSF Railway, Tamora, Nebraska

TranSystems is providing engineering design services for 12.8 miles of new mainline trackage on BNSF's Ravenna Subdivision. Services included design of roadbed, bridges, drainage structures, right-of-way improvements and signal berms along with SWPPP, and civil design. Scope covered replacement of one bridge and new crash walls for another; 26 culvert extensions; and 7 public at-grade crossings. TranSystems served as an extension of the BNSF staff during the property acquisition and bidding phases. The project team prepared the bid package, conducted the pre-bid meeting and is evaluating contractor bids. They also worked directly with BNSF's right-of-way agent on right-of-way acquisition, supervising the preparation of exhibits and legal descriptions.
