C-130 "Hercules" Maintenance Hangar

Hill Air Force Base, Utah

This design-build project delivered a 10,200 sq m steel frame aircraft hangar to support advanced depot maintenance of the C-130 "Hercules" aircraft. TranSystems' design enables the new hanger to accommodate six C-130 aircraft instead of the four specified in the RFP. Work included a rigid pavement aircraft apron and an asphalt overlay, installation of airfield lighting and signage on the existing taxiway. The project earned a Gold SPiRiT sustainable design rating from the Army Corps of Engineers and the 2003 Air Force Materiel Command Design Citation Award.
