USCG Shinnecock Station Rehabilitation

U.S. Coast Guard

Project Summary

TranSystems designed the renovation of this Coast Guard Station built in 1941, a 10,375-square-foot, three-story building with basement. The goal was to bring the building up to modern standards while satisfying New York State Historical Criteria. To preserve the existing historic building, the project required complete demolition of all interior partitions and finishes; only exterior walls, floors and two chimneys remained. The project also relocated the switchgear building and provided handicap accessibility.
