Little Sioux Corn Processors Plant Rail Yard Expansion

Little Sioux Corn Processors Plant

Project Summary

In full operation since 2004, the Little Sioux Corn Processors Plant plans to nearly double its ethanol production to 100 million gallons a year in spring 2008. Due to its reputation for rail design and construction management, TranSystems was asked to develop a rail service plan for the 52-million gallon plant on a no-bid basis. The plan adds six support tracks parallel to the Canadian National main line and an expanded rail yard on the west side of the line. As an added service, TranSystems helped LSCP find, inspect and purchase used rail and other track material, providing and economical and environmentally-friendly solution.
