Southwest Airlines

Project Summary

TranSystems provided architectural and engineering services for Southwest Airlines' new operation start-up at Newark Liberty International Airport. As a new occupant in Terminal A, TranSystems assisted Southwest in meeting their target date of opening and starting operations. The terminal renovation included approximately 10,000-SF of space at four main areas, which included ATO, BSO, ramp offices, three gate holdrooms, and jet bridges. We also provided designs for their new cargo center. TranSystems responsibilities included submission of TAA to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; responding to their comments; coordination with other authorities, such as TSA; coordination with MEP engineers, environmental consultants, and construction managers throughout the duration of the project from design development through construction administration.
