KCI Satellite 101 Parking Lot

City of Kansas City, Missouri - Aviation Department

At KCI, recent improvements included a $62 million greenfield Economy Parking Lot, served by terminal-specific shuttle buses. Guiding travelers to tthe 15,000-space facility are way-finding signs designed by TranSystems. The lot was designed as three facilities, each dedicated to one of the airport's three terminals. To convey this complex message in an easily understandable way, the designers assumed the perspective of a diverse driving audience. Their diagrammatic signage helps drivers get to the appropriate lot - and to negotiate several roundabouts on the way.
